Mr. Kala's practice has focused on commercial and residential title examinations and underwriting and the acquisition, financing, development, sale and foreclosure of commercial and residential property. He has practiced exclusively in the area of real estate law since 1979, as an associate with the Atlanta firms Alston & Bird, and O'Callaghan, Saunders & Stumm, and as a member of Weiss & Kala, LLC. Additionally, he served as a Special Assistant Attorney General for the State of Georgia to represent the State Department of Transportation in acquiring land for the expansion of the Metropolitan Atlanta State Highway System. |
Mr. Weiss graduated from Emory University School of Law in 1984 and has been in the title insurance industry and a real estate law practitioner for more than 20 years. His experience includes extensive commercial title research, curative title and forensic title work, and underwriting as well as the closing of commercial and residential real estate transactions. For real estate litigation matters he regularly serves as an expert witness in the area of title and real estate law. His area of practice has required a knowledge of probate law as well as Uniform Commercial Code transactions involving real estate and fixtures. In 1992 he formed the law firm of Weiss & Kala, LLC with fellow attorney Gregory Kala and in 2001 formed Republic Commercial Title so as to be able to address commercial clients' title needs in Georgia, Alabama, Florida, and Tennessee. |
Rayan's extensive background experience started when she worked for real estate counsel of National Mortgage Company from 1990 through 1994. She then worked for Chicago Title Insurance Company's underwriting counsel in Memphis. Subsequent to that, she has served as both a commercial and residential real estate paralegal at the Memphis law firm of Waring Cox, LLC and several Atlanta firms. As Director of Operations and Business Development she is responsible for and has a strong working knowledge of every aspect of business conducted by Republic Commercial Title in all departments including Residential and Commercial Closing, Georgia Title Operations, and National Title Operations. She, further, is instrumental in new business development. |

Donis joined Republic Commercial Title after serving as commercial title coordinator and assistant with Chicago Title Insurance Company. She has extensive experience with commercial transactions of all sizes and degrees of complexity and is very familiar with title examination, underwriting, title insurance, and real estate customs throughout the United States. In addition to managing Republic's national transactions, Donis is responsible for all cell phone tower site purchases, sales, and leasehold activity which can involve hundreds of sites at one time.
Debbie Johnson has more than 20 years experience in real estate having worked in both Georgia and North Carolina. She is responsible for all post-closing matters affecting residential and commercial transactions and is regularly involved in post-closing curative matters.

Kendyl gathered her knowledge of commercial title matters while an assistant at the Atlanta office of First American Title Insurance Company. Her knowledge of Georgia commercial title issues makes her well-versed at handling most any title question concerning even the most-difficult Georgia commercial title problem. She is responsible for title placement, title review, addressing of underwriting issues and commitment and policy production for all Georgia commercial transactions. She is further qualified to assist with national transactions as well.
Donna Milllard handles most aspects of national transactions at Republic Commercial TItle Company. Her duties include setting up new orders, following up with title service providers and addressing underwriting issues. She is also involved with post-closing matters for residential and commercial transactions.

Robin's 15 year career in real estate began in Florida working for institutional lenders. She has extensive experience in both residential and commercial real estate transactions and is well versed in all closing phases of property acquisition, related lending, and sales. Her experience includes handling title problems and related curative resolution.
Julie has more than 10 years in the real estate industry both in Florida and Georgia. She is well adept at handling most all aspects of residential and commercial closings including title commitment and policy preparation, title problem clearance, coordination of closing parties, document preparation and escrow disbursement.
